TP-Link Deco mesh setup

Deco model numbers change ports, bands, and backhaul. Match the steps to the model on the bottom label.

  1. Find the model on the node label before you open Deco app.
  2. Connect only the primary unit to the modem or ONT. Leave satellites unplugged until the app asks for them.
  3. Create the network in Deco app. Do not type the Wi-Fi password into MySpeedGauge.
  4. Pair one satellite nearby, update firmware, then move it using the floor planner.
  5. If the ISP gateway still routes, use bridge mode or access-point mode as that model’s guide describes.
